im not disagreeing with you. i agree with what you say and see. i don't think preludes are worth anything more than a car that's meant to be seen in and to be an enjoyable daily drive. it simulates the feel of "racey" for daily driving, but that's about it. seriously, it's fwd...nothing to gloat about. and the vtec...that's just a small treat for daily driving, not something to gloat about that it will kick some car's ass or whatever.


I noticed that Dagle didn't entirely disagree to having a throwdown among the Preludes. I'm glad he hasn't because seriously...I'm getting tired of hearing people claiming one generation is better than the other. I say, stop bitching like lil girls and trikk out your damn lude and have a real throw down on a track and have that be the deciding factor. Since I'm doing the talking, I guess I should hurry my ass up and trikk my shit out huh? Well...I'm not claiming which is faster, I enjoy my piece of shit and I'm happy with it. But just for the sake to end all bickering of which gen is the best, I say we should have bonestock of each and have them duke it off or maybe have each gen trikk it out to the best of their ability and financial limits and have it duke it off on a track. I'd be glad to be a spectator and witness something historical in Prelude history. Or we can set specific guidelines on what to trikk out and how much you can spend. It's up to you guys.

Also factor in that it's not just the car. It's also the driver. If you guys can find some guy who can really be our pseudo stig for the day, that would be great. anyone know michael schumacher's number? haha...

i saw a video somewhere where they compared a stock ap1 and ap2 and see which is quicker. the AP2 was quicker around some track by 1-2seconds i think. not sure, i just know it was faster. we should do the same.

i know it's probably not going to happen, but...it would be nice to be the spectator.

Best Motoring did that when the AP2 was released, they raced it against the AP1...AP2 won. they swapped the wheels...AP1 won.

yes, less weight is better. i think i wrote somewhere on the forum about location of weight reduction also matters. like proper weight distribution and the ratio of proper weight distribution. it's like....you can have a lightweight car, but if one end is greatly lighter than the other, throwing the front to back weight ratio, then that's not good. if a car was all CF in every place imaginable but the roof is not, then that throws the centre of mass up too high and makes the body roll more.

yes, fourth gens are lighter but mind you that people do engine swaps all the time and the most popular is the famous and awesome and uber sexy h22a. it's a popular swap for a reason with the 4th gen. =] that should indicate which car is faster. =]

so ive driven the 4th gen around before. i torn up the road with my friend Anh Thu's 4th gen(bonestock) and I think it's nimble as hell. it's like a lil civic and integra with a better engine. that's it. i like the nimble-ness.
as for the millions of fifth gens ive driven...way better engine. and i like the grounded solid feel of the fifth gen. it's opposite of nimble in the right way. firm and grounded and solid. it mostly does not give me the floating feeling, that's something i prefer in a car if i were to own it. it's just my preference.

it's kinda like people expecting me to prefer the e46 M3 over the AP2s2k. Call me crazy, but my preference is feel and handling. s2k is closer to 50/50 in terms of F/B weight distribution and that's something i like. in the m3, i feel like...there's a hunk of metal in the front, not something i like. i can feel that the enigne sits closer to the middle in the s2k and it does. they positioned the engine behind the wheels. to me, i like that. to some people, they value power. so they take the m3. some it's badge, but that's a different story.

im just not a muscle/power kind of person. in american pie betta house, there's a saying along the lines of...a lion with a small dick has to make up with a mighty roar. well...i don't need a loud roar to my engine. haha...j/k
but to be honest, im pretty content with anything that's over ~200bhp.

if youre talking straight line, then yes you probably will. but as anyone on here whos talked to me about racing knows, i dont drag.

on a road course it still might be a competitive race. straight line power still translates to better lap times (relatively speaking) because even with slower speeds entering the corner, more power = exiting speed will be faster.

=I always carry 2 pencils w/ the long erasers on the other end(one is 0.5, the other is 0.7), 2 black ink pens, 2blue ink pens. Amazingly, I don't like highlighters. I think they're annoying. I carry my own set of dry erase markers.
=The only calculator that I'll ever use and buy is the TI-86. I don't like simple scientific calculators. I only like graphic calculators.
=I refuse to ever use a 3 ring binder. I either use those 13 subject plastic folder with a bungy cord back in the days of high school...or I've moved up in college to those 5Star 200pages 5subject note books with the protective nylon over the spiral binding. 4 extra bucks for that piece of nylon and it's damn worth it.
=I always wear my backpack to the lowest. I'm just old skool like that.
=I don't like to ever sit in the first two front rows of any classroom. I prefer to sit in the third row.

-ive come to realize that my appetite increases according to the amount of alcohol ive had. thus is how im able to easily put away several burgers and hotdogs at parties/bbqs.
-hippies/health food people/whatever the fuck they call themselves this year are, in general, not terribly attractive. and for some reason a lot of them seem to have more of a beer belly than most of my friends who drink a lot of beer.

Meh, there are plenty of people who eat right that don't say anything or identify themselves with a movement. They're in good shape but you'd never think of them as hippies / health food people because they just shut up and get the job done.
